Ethan Bailey is a Sports Rehabilitation professional at the Foot, Knee and Back Clinic with a strong academic and hands-on background in musculoskeletal health, biomechanics, and sports performance enhancement. He completed his BSc in Sports Rehabilitation at the University of Salford, where he developed a particular interest in lower-limb function and how movement mechanics influence injury risk and recovery. Building on this, he progressed into an apprenticeship MSc in Podiatry at the University of Plymouth, further strengthening his clinical focus on foot and lower-limb assessment, rehabilitation, and performance.

During his time at university, Ethan gained valuable experience working within an elite sport environment, supporting players at Sale Sharks. This helped shape his practical, athlete-centred approach, bridging evidence-based rehabilitation with the real-world demands of training and competition.

Sport has always been central to Ethan’s life. He competed in tennis and football with clubs including Long Eaton United F.C., Beeston F.C., Toton F.C., and Erewash F.C., before moving into track athletics in his mid-teens, competing for Nottingham and continuing through school into early university. He remains highly active through mid-to-long distance running, cycling, gym training, and wakeboarding, keeping his clinical thinking grounded in the realities of load management, performance goals, and returning to sport.

Ethan’s early diagnosis of idiopathic juvenile arthritis also gave him first-hand insight into the challenges of long-term conditions, pain, fatigue, reduced joint function, and the emotional impact of time away from sport. That experience has shaped his empathy as a clinician and strengthened his commitment to helping people feel confident in their bodies again, whether they’re managing a persistent condition, recovering from injury, or aiming to move and perform better.

By combining academic knowledge with lived sporting experience, Ethan brings a practical, supportive, and outcomes-focused approach to rehabilitation and podiatric care, helping patients move more efficiently, recover effectively, and return to the activities they enjoy.
