Clare Flintham is the joint proprietor of the Long Eaton Foot, Knee and Back Clinic and an experienced podiatrist with nearly three decades of clinical practice. She graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Podiatry from the University of Leicester in 1996, having completed her three-year degree training at Nene College, Northampton. Clare also holds a postgraduate diploma in Health Service Research, reflecting her commitment to evidence-based care and continual professional development.

Clare has built a strong surgical understanding of foot pain and complex lower-limb conditions. She is particularly experienced in assessing and managing problems such as hammertoes, Morton’s neuroma, metatarsalgia, bunions, hallux limitus, plantar fasciitis, and posterior tibial tendon dysfunction, helping patients reduce pain, improve function, and return to daily activity with confidence.

Clare spent over 20 years working within the NHS, much of that time supporting podiatric surgery services. She began her career working with people living with diabetes at the Paula Carr Diabetes Unit before moving to the East Midlands, where she developed further expertise in general podiatry and biomechanics. From early 1999, she worked as part of the podiatric surgery team at Park House, alongside her work in private practice.

In the clinic, Clare is known for her thorough, reassuring approach and her focus on high-quality assessment and treatment planning. Her specialist skills include treatments delivered under local anaesthetic, including nail surgery, verruca treatment, fungal nail management, and administering cortisone injections where appropriate.

Outside of work, Clare loves unwinding with a good book. She’s also passionate about open water swimming all year round (yes, even in winter) and enjoys walking and spending time outdoors whenever she gets the chance.
